Easier Access to France Travail

The most significant change affects Article R. 5221-2 of the Labor Code. The decree adds a specific provision allowing for immediate registration as a job seeker for two key categories:

  • EU Blue Card holders (reserved for highly qualified workers).
  • Former holders of this card who have transitioned to long-term resident-EU status.

2. Why This Change Matters

The objective is twofold:

  • Fluidity: Reducing administrative delays for foreign experts in professional transitions.
  • Compliance: Aligning French law with Directive (EU) 2021/1883, which encourages the mobility of skilled workers across the European Union.

3. Implications for Employers and Talent

For recruiters, this means a pool of international talent that is more accessible and better supported by public employment services (France Travail) from the moment they arrive or change their status. For the workers, it provides a safety net and a structured path to their next role in France.
